Nolan Eason

At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.

Travel Day

I had to travel to Charleston, SC, today as tomorrow is our very last day of filming on Homeland for this season but it is in Charleston, not Charlotte. All day I procrastinated having to leave. Marshall left early this morning to head to Atlanta, Ga, to go to the Who concert with Steve. So JoJo and I hung out all morning until I went and met my Mom for lunch at Rucker John's. After lunch I stopped by my Dad's house to see and visit with him and to see Buster and take him a new toy Marshall and I had bought for him. It was a new lobster rope chew toy. He used to have one just like it that he loved and always tried to play with JoJo with it until eventually the thing was played with to death. So I thought he and Jaycee might enjoy playing with a new one. Buster seemed less interested in the toy and more interested in getting pets from me. I was glad to see he seemed excited to see me as he pranced all around me when I first came in. I do miss him, but I know this is a better situation for him all around.

After about an hour long visit, I headed back home to pack up the car and head to Charleston. Since I had no work today and it was only a travel day for me, I wasn't too worried about getting to Charleston early. Instead I just enjoyed my day hanging around Wilmington and lounging on the couch. I also didn't want JoJo to be by herself too long since I wasn't sure when Marshall was getting back in town tomorrow. We did have someone coming by tonight to let her out and feed her, but I knew she would be lonely without anyone here all night. It wasn't until around 4:30pm when I finally left the house, obviously in no hurry to get to my hotel room. Not having anyone to hang out with once I got there, I just stopped by Laddles and picked up a salad and took it to my hotel room. I ate my dinner on my bed while I watched TV. Once I got to my room I found a call sheet under my door and found out our call time had been moved up 30 minutes. Fortunately, we were filming at Patriot's Point which was only about 5 minutes from our hotel but it was still going to be a really early morning for me. I settled in for the night, trying to get at least some sleep.
