Nolan Eason

At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.

Reshoots

It was our 2nd day of reshoots on The Occult. Fortunately, it was a 10am call time so I actually got some sleep last night. It was another fun day on set, but COLD and rainy! We were filming a birthing scene, which was a bit weird for me. We only had a couple of real babies on set and only for one shot, which I was glad for. It was a large birthing scene though with 6 pregnant women whom were all going into labor at the same time. It was to be the opening scene of the movie and although I wasn't there when they filmed it originally, apparently it lacked the impact that the producers felt that it should. So, they recast some of the women and redesigned how to shoot the scene to get a better reaction out of the scene. I think it will be a pretty good scene all in all. Although we were filming inside, there was no room inside the house, so they had to put video village right outside the door. It actually ended up being okay, as locations tented us in, closed in the sides and gave us 3 propane heaters. At one point it got so toasting in our tent that I had to take off my coat. I would much rather have to do that than be freezing all night!
