Nolan Eason

At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.

Last Day of Work For 2012

We had a much later call today - 5pm! I had known that today would be a night shoot and while I wasn't looking forward to it, I kept reminding myself that it was my last day of work for months so just suck it up. The one good thing about the later call was that I was able to keep my doctor's appointment with Dr. McLean. She listened to the baby's heartbeat and said it sounded good. She then told me based upon my glucose tests and the results of my blood sugars, I don't have gestational diabetes yet. I told her about my problems I was having with my glucose meter reading high when compared with the doctor's office and my Mom's meter, so she wrote me a prescription for a new meter.

I went home and took a nap before heading in to work. We had to wait on it to get dark, so I walked around the property and realized that they had goats! I've been here for 2 days and haven't heard or seen the goats until then. They were very friendly and came right up to the fence when I came over to see them.

Marshall was working today on Safe Haven reshoots, a Nicholas Sparks book turned into movie, but they had a much earlier call time than us. Since he was off by the time it got dark, Marshall decided to come by and visit the set and say hello to everyone. Our producer Scott's family also came by including his wife, mother-in-law and his baby son, Nate. Nate was only a couple of months old when we were shooting The Occult back in March so it was fun to see him and see how big he was now. He was talking and walking and was so adorable. Everyone was really glad to see Marshall when he came by, but I think Pete our producer was the happiest. He has a man crush on Marshall and also I think he just wanted to see for himself how Marshall was doing since Nolan's death. Pete had asked me a lot about Marshall and how he was coping and how we both were dealing with the new pregnancy. Marshall came at our lunch time so he walked with me down the lit trail that lead through the woods from set to base camp and catering. Seeing how this is a horror film, it is kind of spooky walking down the lit trail every time I need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

We didn't wrap until 5am. Although I didn't quite see the sun come up on my way home, the horizon was certainly turning a lighter shade of blue as I drove into my drive way. I was so tired and so glad it was my last day of work. I'm sure I will get bored at some point but for now I'm glad to have a break. I'm just so tired.
