Nolan Eason

At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.

Sore Throat

I woke up this morning with an incredibly sore throat. I wasn't sure at first whether it was because I was getting sick or because I slept with my mouth open to help me breathe. I've been having trouble breathing at night due to a stuffy nose (another wonderful pregnancy symptom). I decide to forgot going to Zumba this morning and as the day progressed I was really glad I did. It became pretty evident to me that I was indeed coming down with some sort of cold. Dang it. I sat around all day in my PJs and watched TV and knitted. It was a beautiful day outside, but I had no desire to get off my couch. My energy level was pretty low and my appetite was nonexistent. The neighbors across the street kept riding their 4 wheelers up and down the road all afternoon. Then one of them decided to start showing off and popping wheelies on it. They were driving me nuts. I eventually went and stepped outside on my front porch and when the guy popping wheelies saw me he immediately put the bike down and they stopped riding. We do not live in the country out here and those neighbors are just renters so they could care less how their yard looks and what they do. The rest of the neighbors do care though.

Late in the afternoon it started pouring down rain. Good weather to take a nap in and so that is just what JoJo and I did. When I woke up I decided I should probably try to eat something so I made myself some clam chowder. I only got down maybe half a bowl and had no desire to eat any more. It also was completely tasteless and really didn't make my throat feel any better. So I made a bowl of ice cream instead. That I actually did eat. It felt so good on my  throat. I probably would have eaten more just to keep my throat cool and pain free but there wasn't much left. Hopefully tomorrow this sore throat will just be a thing of the past.
