Nolan Eason
At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.

Pillow Hog
This morning I woke up after another sleepless night to my cuddle bug JoJo hogging my maternity pillow. Still tired from another night of restless sleep, I snuggled with JoJo until she insisted I get up and let her outside. One of the guys that I had called about the roof came by today to measure and do our estimate. I spent some time in the nursery today putting away all the clothes I had washed. I even washed the crib bedding and put it on the crib despite the fact that we don't plan on putting the baby in there until he's 6 months old. Honestly, he probably won't sleep in there at all until we return home from Homeland in November. I do plan on using the bedroom for all diaper changes and feedings though.
I went to Zumba this afternoon and then stopped by the grocery store on the way home to pick up zucchini for dinner. I should never go to the grocery store hungry! This I know, but I couldn't help it. I did pass up the chocolate covered donuts, but went home with some chocolate covered peanuts. So much for trying to be healthy! I did make zucchini pasta for dinner before I had the chocolate peanuts for desert so it wasn't entirely all bad.
