Nolan Eason

At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.

Dad's bday

Today is my Dad's birthday so we had lunch at RX with him, Susan, Stacey, Shea and Shea's mom Juanita. Lunch was great as is every meal at RX. I actually opted for the chili cheeseburger today that Marshall always raves about. They gave Dad his choice of a desert and brought it out with a candle so we were all able to sing Happy Birthday to him and then watch him open his presents. Afterwards, we went home and Marshall had to pack up and head back to Charleston.

Once he left I took my laptop and went to my Mom's to try to set up her router again. Shea and her mom came over to visit and to pick up a light and table I had at Mom's for Shea. Susan ended up coming over too to try to help me with the router. I finally got the router working and changed the username and password. Success! I only really succeeded because Marshall had given me a few pointers on what might have gone wrong last time. He also told me how to reset the router so I could start from scratch. I didn't even know the router had a reset button. Once Mom was up and running with WiFi, Shea and her mom and I went to have dinner at Flaming Amy's. I was actually excited when Shea mentioned going there as I had been craving some of their yummy pineapple jalapeno salsa. When I got home I turned on the Golden Globes and watched a bit of it as I was already started to get text messages from my friends congratulating me on Homeland's win. Homeland ended up winning best TV drama, Damian Lewis won for best actor and Claire won for best actress. Claire looked so great having just had a baby 1 month ago! Ugh! It made me sick. There is no way I will look that good a month after giving birth. Of course, I know she was wearing some great spandex under that outfit and that the dress was hiding the remnants of the baby bump, but still! It makes me not want to go back to Homeland having to be compared to how she looks post baby. I will still pull the defense that she was only pregnant for 9 months while I was pregnant for 2 years!
