Today Marshall and I made plans to have brunch with my Dad at Boca Bay. Our intention was to approach the subject of Buster living with him on a permanent basis. Since we were arriving home Friday night, Dad had dropped him off and we've had him all weekend. It was great to see him again, but now after a little separation, it might be the best time to have him go ahead and find his new forever home. We are prepared to continue to take care of him just as if he was still living with us in regards to getting all his food and treats and taking and paying for all vet bills. The only difference is that he would get his daily love and attention from elsewhere, hopefully my Dad. So we took a deep breath and Marshall approached my Dad with the subject. He said he wasn't surprised that he had been expecting us to ask this and after having Buster for a week and seeing how great he and my Dad's dog Jaycee got along, he would be happy to have Buster! Yay! I was so happy knowing that Buster would be well taken care of and that we no longer had to worry about him, but I was also sad. I've had Buster since he was a puppy. He's the first dog I've had that was truly just mine. I picked him out, I bought him, trained him and have had him for 8 years. I know I can go visit him whenever I want, but it just won't be the same. We agreed that Dad would come get him tomorrow so that we could get all his things ready to go with him.

After lunch, Marshall and I decided to take the boat out for a quick ride around the island. Since it was low tide, we went out to the palm tree island and docked the boat. I've been wanting to go to the island for some time, but during the summer it is virtually impossible to get on the island at low tide for all the boats and people. At high tide the only thing visible on the island is the palm tree and parking meter. So we stopped, kicked off our shoes and walked around the island. We took some pictures of me at 17 weeks pregnant and then loaded up on the boat and headed back to the marina.
Unfortunately, it was Sunday I eventually had to head back to Charlotte. We had received a call on Friday that our new couch would be delivered tomorrow, so JT had agreed to load up our current couch in his trailer and take it back to Charlotte with him today since he too would be working on Homeland this week. Before we headed to the house to meet him, we did a little shopping for Marshall. He was searching for a fishing pole box for his boom poles. While he didn't find exactly what he was looking for, he did find a canvas case at Dick's that would suit his needs for now.

When we got home, I decided to take a nap on the couch while we waited on JT to come over. In reality I was just prolonging the inevitable trip back to Charlotte and back to work. My nap was interrupted when JT arrived and they needed to load up the couch I was actually napping on. Shortly after JT left, I too loaded up the car and headed out to Charlotte so I could meet JT at our NoDa house. Since I wasn't able to help JT move the couch into our house, our friends Kelly and Kevin had agreed to meet us there and help JT. It was around 9pm when I arrived in Charlotte and Kevin and JT had already unloaded the couch and were backing JT's trailer up behind our fence to lock it in the backyard. Kelly and I went in the house and she took a look around at all of Marshall's handiwork and was really impressed with how the house looked now. After thanking everyone, I locked up the house and headed over to my apartment to chill out and get ready for work the next day. Only a few more weeks left of Homeland for the season and I am so ready to be off and to be able to just relax and focus and myself and the baby.
