American Idol nights have come to mean so much more than who is going to sing what and who is getting booted off this week. Last year it was usually just Susan, Stacey and me eating and watching and occassionally trying to learn how to knit. This year Shea has joined our group coupled with my Mom joining us from time to time and as of the past month Marshall too and sometimes Dino. It has turned into the one day a week we set aside time to gather. Yes we watch American Idol but the bulk of our evening is just being with each other. We dine, we sometimes drink and we always laugh and laugh some more. It is quite possibly the best group of people to have in the same room together. All these people were also the same people that lived in the hospital with us for 3 days. They are there in the good times and the bad and so are the people that bring us the greatest comfort now. They don't ask us how we are doing - they already know. Instead they come over and are real and make us feel normal again. They laugh and joke and pick on us just as they always would. For really nothing has changed and yet they know everything indeed has changed. These friends are beautiful in our eyes as only true friends can be. Even Buster sees the beauty in them, especially Stacey as he is absolutely in love with her. The minute Stacey enters until the time she leaves, Buster is constantly by her side loving on her and asking for her attention.

How lucky you are to have such wonderful friends and how lucky they are to have you and Marshall. Love to you both. Aunt Jo
