Nolan Eason

At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.

Hanging It Up

Today Marshall and I spent the morning being lazy, drinking coffee and lounging around. Marshall bundled up and ventured outside for a bit with JoJo. She refuses to stay outside for any extended period of time by herself and I refuse to sit out there in the cold with her. I will gladly spend hours sitting in the gazebo on nice, warm days but the cold days are all Marshall. So he bundled up in his flannel PJ pants, UGG boots, hoodie and coat and went to sit in the gazebo with her. His mix mash of clothing must have worked for he stayed a good 30 minutes outside with her before giving in and coming back inside to warm himself in front of the fire.

The rest of the day we spent trying to finish up the bathroom remodel. We went around town shopping for a new mirror, towel bar, and vanity light. We eventually found a light we liked at Kitchen and Lighting as well as a really great surfboard ceiling fan for the nursery. Unfortunately, we had to order the surfboard light so neither light was able to be installed today. At Home Depot we found a mirror to go with the towel bar and hooks we found at Lowe's. Once home we decided it was time to hang at least some of our purchases up. At the very minimum I wanted the mirror hung up so I could start fully using our bathroom once again. I put together one of the two cabinets we purchased at IKEA while Marshall hung the mirror. Once I was done with the cabinet, we hung that along with the towel bar. By the time we were finished with all of that, we were tired and hungry so we decided to call it a night. I was just happy with the mirror being up so the rest was a bonus for me. Maybe by next weekend the bathroom can be completely finished. It was nice to be able to put my makeup and hair products back in my bathroom and now we had a place to hang our new towels.
