Today I am 24 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I had an ultrasound appointment to check on the little guy. Everything looked and sounded great. His heartbeat was 136 and he's weighing in at 1lb 8oz and in the 21 percentile. According to the baby books, his weight is right on target - not too big and not too small. It is always great to get a good report, but it doesn't make my fears of something going wrong later go away. It simply gives me a sigh of relief temporarily. We did, however, get an awesome 3D picture of his face today which was really exciting. We have a similar one of Nolan and it was cool to see the similarities in the two boys and their differences. They both have Marshall's lips and it is amazing that even this early on you can tell it from this picture. When Nolan came out that was the first thing I noticed about him was that he had Marshall's lips. Obviously that feature seems to be a dominate one now with both boys having it. We will see when he comes out what other features of his Daddy he may or may not have.
After the ultrasound, we took my Dad out on the boat for lunch. We took a spin around the island and then docked at the public docks and walked across the street to Tower 7. It was awesome as always and the boat ride was beautiful and fun. There weren't that many other boats out and it was pretty calm water so the ride was pleasant, even though a bit chilly.
When we got home, I made a pot of chili for dinner later and we cleaned up the house a bit. It was still pretty disorganized from us being gone and the girls were coming over tonight for X Factor so it was time to straighten up a bit. Susan, Stacey and Brian came over for dinner. Unfortunately, Brian left before X Factor started for he found out he has to drive back to NY in the morning to head back to work. He is planning on leaving at 4am! Yikes! Needless to say, he was heading home to pack and go to bed. I'm sad he is going to miss the Christmas party but I'm sure we will see him at some point while he is home for the Christmas break.
Carly killed it on X Factor as always. Man that 13 year old is a prodigy. I imagine we will hear great things from her in the future despite the outcome of X Factor. Cece needs to go home! She is terrible and I can't believe she is even still on this show. What are people thinking? Her mentor Demi also gets on my nerves. I hope they replace Demi with a new judge next year. I think Demi is a terrible mentor and she's just downright annoying as a judge. She doesn't even have anything worthwhile to say.
Nolan Eason
At 1:03AM on Friday, March 30, 2012 my first child was born - a son. We named him Nolan Eason. 21" long, 5lb 3oz. He was beautiful and perfect in every way, except that he was stillborn. As we searched for answers to his untimely death, we also searched for comfort. This blog was created as a way of working through my sorrow by trying to find something beautiful in the world each day. Hopefully, along the way it will help others to heal as well.
